ADEP Honors Indigenous Peoples’ Day

In August, the Afghan-American community came together with other marginalized communities to learn of the profound history and sacrifice Indigenous groups have experienced. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we want to take a moment to recognize all that the indigenous communities have endured for centuries, in their quest for liberation and freedom.

Our liberation is ultimately bound together, and as Afghan Americans working for justice within our diaspora community, we hope to honor that on this day. The collective activism against the systems of oppression that bind the struggles of marginalized communities is evermore reason to collectively work for each other’s true freedom.
